Programs and process design
Mersal Media: workshops, series and a working archive
I designed two municipal workshop programs for young people, produced and edited educational series that reached thousands of viewers, and rebuilt how the studio logs and finds thousands of archive items.

Workshop programs for young people
For two Umm al-Fahm Municipality tenders, one on media and communication and one on community podcasting, I wrote the session plans and coordinated between Mersal Media and the municipality. When the programs ran, I was one of the lead facilitators.
Series and campaigns
I produced, directed and edited educational and cultural series in Arabic and English. They include the 165-episode Educational Reflections, 38 episodes of Money and Business, and Stop the Bleeding, a campaign against violence in the Arab community made for the municipality, where I was production manager.
Fixing the archive
The studio had already digitized thousands of items, but the way they were logged made material hard to find. I studied archiving practice, redesigned how new items are taken in, built a registry in Google Sheets and set up a process to repair records created under the old method. The team still uses it, and finding material is now much easier.
What carries over
Turning a client’s requirements into a program that runs on the ground. Noticing when a process is broken, and redesigning it so others can keep using it.
Process & curriculum architecture
From unindexed footage to a working archive & youth programs
How broken studio retrieval and municipal training tenders were turned into repeatable systems.
Archive diagnostic & taxonomy design
Thousands of digitized files existed on drives, but editors could not reliably locate footage by topic, speaker, date, or rights status.
- Bottleneck solved
- Eliminated blind folder hunting across thousands of legacy items.
- System built
- Standardized metadata schema & controlled vocabulary in Google Sheets.
- Who uses it
- Mersal Media producers, editors, and archive staff daily.
Intake gate & legacy backfill protocol
Designed a two-track workflow: a strict intake checklist for all new shoots and a structured remediation queue to repair older records.
- Bottleneck solved
- Prevented new unindexed backlog while steadily repairing historical logs.
- System built
- Step-by-step intake form, naming convention, and QA verification pass.
- Long-term durability
- Continues operating independently after handover.

Authored two complete workshop programs for Umm al-Fahm Municipality tenders, aligned stakeholders, and co-facilitated the youth cohorts.
